'My understanding...' – Alan Myers shares Farhad Moshiri stance on Dyche sack at Everton

Sean Dyche has the “full backing” of Farhad Moshiri as pressure mounts on the Everton manager, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 25 November that Dyche is expected to remain in charge for the foreseeable future and has the support of the current board of directors at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are winless in their last four matches, the last two of which have been 0-0 draws, but confidence in the 53-year-old remains high ahead of the impending takeover.

Myers said: “My understanding is that Dyche has the full backing of current owner Farhad Moshiri and board of directors, and he will be in charge for the foreseeable future.”

Sean Dyche update won’t sit well with Everton fans

Toffees fans have had few reasons to trust or have any confidence in the words of Moshiri for numerous years now, and so hearing that their outgoing owner wants Dyche to remain in charge won’t be welcome.

Calls for Dyche’s sacking have grown in recent weeks despite the Blues recovering from a dismal opening period of the season, which saw them lose four straight games and ship 13 goals.

A five-game unbeaten run – which included their only two victories of the campaign so far – now feels a long way away, with just one goal in the four games since showing where their major issues lie.

Even that solitary strike came in the form of a 94th-minute Beto equaliser, and as the Guinea-Bissau striker is linked with a move away, it’s clear that reinforcements will be needed in January.

Dan Friedkin’s expected December arrival [Myers, 20 November] will finally close the book on Moshiri’s disastrous tenure at Goodison, but it looks as if that won’t also spell the end for Dyche just yet.

In other Everton news, the club face a January transfer decision regarding an out-of-favour youngster currently out on loan.
