National media raves over 'Remarkable Entrance' from Everton ace on int'l duty

Iliman Ndiaye has been credited in the Senegalese national media after the Everton star’s “remarkable” moment against Burundi, as reported by WIW Sport.

The striker replaced Toffees teammate Idrissa Gana Gueye an hour into the contest in Malawi as the side chased a goal, which eventually came through Ismaila Sarr’s penalty to secure a 1-0 win.

Having also appeared in the final minutes against Burkina Faso on Friday, the new signing at Goodison Park adds two further caps for a current total of 22.

The press report stated: “The Everton striker was the author of a remarkable entrance, like his superb solo rush in the 75th minute.

“It took a good save from the Burundian goalkeeper to prevent him from scoring. But we want more.”

Everton man Iliman Ndiaye stars for Senegal

Ndiaye will be eager to continue chipping away for both Everton and Senegal, as he aims to become a starter in both teams.

Having displayed a high ceiling for ability in the past, the 24-year-old will be content enough with his individual progress despite his club’s struggles.

His first competitive goal for the club against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup led to a first Premier League start against Bournemouth, in which he looked relatively lively and left the field with Sean Dyche’s side in the lead.

Ndiaye faces competition for his nation too, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson and Sarr all ahead of him in the pecking order and players like on-loan Brighton man Abdallah Sima also vying for minutes.

A receptive player, Ndiaye can blossom under the wing of Dyche and can be a potentially increasingly key Everton frontman.
