Newcastle & West Ham Exclusive: Big Jarrod Bowen update tonight

Miguel Almiron is expected to leave Newcastle United this summer if the club completes the signing of a right forward as they work through a list headed by Jarrod Bowen, sources have told Football Insider.

The Magpies are working on strengthening four different positions in this window ahead of the new campaign, with right forward being one of those.

The club was working on a deal for Crystal Palace’s in-demand winger, Michael Olise, but that didn’t progress and he has now agreed to join Bayern Munich.

However, Newcastle are keeping tabs on Crysencio Summerville and England international Jarrod Bowen, amongst other names.

If a deal is agreed upon, Almiron will be allowed to depart the club, but that will depend on the Magpies bringing someone else in during this window.

There is strong interest from Saudi Arabia for the right forward, as Football Insider revealed Al-Shabab still wants to sign him despite having a bid turned down in January.

The Paraguay international joined the club in 2019 and is under contract with the Magpies until 2026.

He’s been a regular within the squad throughout that time, playing 209 times in all competitions, and scoring 30 goals for the club in the process.

Almiron was a particularly vital part of Eddie Howe’s team last season, playing 33 Premier League games and making six Champions League appearances, proving what a major decision it would be to let him leave.

However, Almiron might not be the only attacker departing St James’ Stadium this summer, as Callum Wilson could also be sold in this window.

Much like Almiron, Wilson’s status at the club will rely on a potential incoming, with the club edging closer to agreeing a deal with Everton for Dominic Calver-Lewin.
