Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has taken to social media to thank Ashley Cole for his hard work as a member of Lee Carsley’s England staff.
Cole, 43, has departed the England set-up after their comprehensive 5-0 UEFA Nations League win over the Republic of Ireland on Sunday (November 17).
The former Chelsea defender played a pivotal role in Carsley’s setup during his interim tenure, following Gareth Southgate’s resignation after Euro 2024.
Incoming manager Thomas Tuchel will bring his own staff with him once he officially starts the job in the new year, with former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach Anthony Barry already named as his assistant.
Noni Madueke grateful for Chelsea legend Ashley Cole
Madueke, 22, made his debut under Carsley, bagging an assist for Harry Kane’s second goal in their 2-0 win over Finland on September 10th.
He has since gone on to make five appearances for his country, starting in their two games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland during the November international break.
Clearly grateful for the opportunity, Madueke took to Instagram to send a message to Cole for his contribution over the past two months.
The winger will now return to Chelsea, buoyed by impressive displays for England as they aim to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2021-22.
With Cole Palmer moving more centrally under new manager Enzo Maresca, Maduke has made the right wing his own, scoring four goals in his ten league appearances.
In other news, Chelsea could accept Mykhaylo Mudryk offer ahead of January – sources.
