'Number one signing': TalkSPORT pundit now urges Tottenham to sign £40m striker who's 'one of the best' in the world

A talkSPORT pundit has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign a £40m-rated striker who’s considered one of the best in the world this summer transfer window.

The North Londoners have added Timo Werner, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray to their ranks so far and they aren’t going to rest on their laurels.

Next on the agenda is thought to be a striker as they look to finally replace Harry Kane who departed for Bayern Munich last summer.

With that said, a pundit has now urged Tottenham to sign a Premier League striker.

Tottenham urged to sign Ivan Toney

TalkSPORT pundit Darren Ambrose has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who has been labelled ‘one of the best’ in the world per Sky Sports.

“I think we need a striker, I do,” Ambrose said.

“The only striker really that would say is available is Ivan Toney. I think will Arsenal be looking at Ivan Toney? Perhaps. I don’t think Arsenal need him as much as Spurs do. I think they were second top scorers in the Premier League last season. 91 goals.”

Ambrose added two minutes later: “Ivan Toney for Spurs would be my I think that would be number one signing. I would go all out to get him because I think everyone wants that top, top striker.”

Ivan Toney price tag

Brentford are prepared to slash Toney’s asking price this summer as he has just a year remaining on his contract.

It’s now claimed the 28-year-old can be bought for £40m, which is a significant discount from his previous £90m valuation.

If Spurs were to land his signature, it’d be regarded as one of the coups of the window, putting rivals on red alert.
