Footballers earn massive wages at top clubs, but those wages can easily be chipped away at if they don’t follow procedure.
Indeed, as strange as it sounds, many top clubs implement in-house fine systems based on multiple factors including lateness and ill-discipline.
Frank Lampard famously used a very strict fine system when he was at Chelsea,
Mikel Arteta seemingly utilises a similar system at Arsenal, and speaking to Pro Direct Soccer, Oleksandr Zinchenko has revealed which Arsenal player receives the most fines at the club.
Mikel Arteta is known for being strict, he released Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after some indiscretions at Arsenal, and he’s not afraid to dock his players’ wages if he needs to.
According to Zinchenko, William Saliba is actually the player who gets fined the most at Arsenal for not concentrating.

William Saliba gets the most fines at Arsenal
Zinchenko spoke about the fine system at Arsenal, and he outed the £27m defender as a serial rulebreaker.
The left-back says that Saliba is often fined for not concentrating.
“Who gets fined the most?” Zinchenko was asked.
“Saliba,” Zinchenko said.
“What is it? Because of lateness or because of something else”” Zinchenko was asked.
“He’s just not concentrating,” Zinchenko said.
How much does William Saliba earn?
Saliba is apparently regularly receiving fines at Arsenal, but that should be no skin off his nose.
Indeed, Saliba certainly earns enough to cover any sort of small fines he picks up at Arsenal as he’s one of the club’s highest earners.
Arsenal’s highest earners Weekly wage Kai Havertz £280,000 Gabriel Jesus £265,000 Declan Rice £240,000 Martin Odegaard £240,000 Thomas Partey £200,000 Bukayo Saka £195,000 William Saliba £190,000
These fines are often a few hundred pounds, and they often go towards the team’s budget for a Christmas party or even towards a raffle for staff members around the club.
Saliba may rack up a serious bill in terms of these fines, but when you earn such a massive amount of money each week, it’s not a huge issue.
Saliba may not be on the ball in terms of his concentration in training, but he certainly does concentrate in games, hence why Saliba is considered one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
