'Get over the line...' - David Edgar issues update on Ibrahim Adel-Rangers on deadline day

Rangers may find it difficult to complete the transfer of Pyramids winger Ibrahim Adel, according to David Edgar.

The Heart and Hand podcast host claimed on 30 August that the reason for it is due to the fact that the Egypt international is currently in Spain.

This comes after a move to Ibrox was back on the cards after his club pulled the plug on him joining Getafe. [Daily Record]

Via X, Edgar wrote: “He’s in Spain so would be tough to get over the line.”

Given the constraints of time and location with Adel currently in Spain, Gers could still attempt a last-minute push to secure his transfer.

They can remotely discuss terms directly with Adel and his representatives, potentially speeding up personal agreement processes.

Rangers could expedite the financial negotiations with Pyramids, perhaps by increasing their transfer offer or proposing more favourable payment terms to make the deal irresistible, especially if the Egpytian club are keen to capitalise on Adel’s market value while it’s high.

Additionally, Gers might explore if there’s any possibility for a medical examination in Spain, possibly with a trusted medical team travelling there or utilising a local facility with quick turnaround times.

Offering a vision for his development at Ibrox, including first-team opportunities and a pathway to potentially bigger leagues, might sway Adel’s decision in these final hours.

However, with the focus seemingly shifting, it appears highly unlikely that Gers sign the 23-year-old.
