'One to watch' - Lilywhite Rose hails 16y/o Tottenham gem after what he has done this season

John Wenham has described 16-year-old Tottenham gem Harry Byrne as “one to watch”.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has been impressed by the Under-18 ace’s performances this term.

Byrne has played six times in the Under-18 Premier League this season, starting four of those matches.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks he is a player supporters should be keeping an eye on.

“There are a couple of players who I’ve been impressed with as of late,” Wenham said.

“Byrne is someone who I hadn’t seen too much of before recent weeks. However, he looks really impressive. He can play either as a full-back or central midfielder.

“He is really tidy in possession, has good passing ability and is always looking to get the team forward. Therefore, he might be one to watch over the coming weeks and months.”

Ange Postecoglou to take notice of Tottenham gem Harry Byrne?

Spurs’ Under-18s have several talented youngsters in their ranks, with Lucá Williams-Barnett the most obvious example.

However, he isn’t the only exciting player at that level, and it looks as though fans might now want to keep an eye on Byrne.

Able to operate as a full-back or midfielder, the 16-year-old could perhaps be a perfect long-term potion for Ange Postecoglou’s invested full-back role.

Therefore, with Byrne’s performance already catching the eye, Postecoglou would be wise to keep an eye on the youngster.
