Civil war at Chelsea raises “major question marks” about their ability to do business in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been widely reported that Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are both vying to take full ownership at Stamford Bridge.
Boehly’s relationship with Clearlake has reportedly reached breaking point and a new solution is needed for Chelsea in the future.
Sources say recent developments bring “uncertainty” over potential transfer spending in the January transfer window.
Clearlake and founder Behdad Eghbali own 61.5% of the Blues, but reports have suggested Boehly is confident he can raise the capital for a full buyout.

The London giants have spent freely since the takeover was completed but are yet to see any real success on the pitch.
Chelsea signed 11 new players in the summer window and replaced manager Mauricio Pochettino with Enzo Maresca.
Boehly and Clearlake are no strangers to January business after spending almost £260million to bring Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk – among others – to the club in the winter of 2023.
The Blues have started the new season by picking up four points from a possible nine.
They will face the likes of Gent, Astana and Shamrock Rovers in the Uefa Conference League this term.
In other news, Chelsea will be rejected by transfer targets after “meltdown”, says expert.
