Philippe Clement clings onto Rangers job as senior sources share new update - report

Philippe Clement is still clinging onto his job at Rangers despite rumours of the sack being shut down, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on its website that the Belgian has not left Ibrox despite social media whispers, with senior club sources calling them “nonsense.”

Clement and his side were booed by fans on 23 November after the 1-1 draw against Dundee United at Ibrox, leaving them 11 points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

It was a whirlwind end to Sunday 24 November around Ibrox, with rumours starting on WhatsApp before being pushed everywhere on social media.

Clement has insisted he wouldn’t walk away but there was still hope when it was suggested that his supposed exit was by mutual consent.

That isn’t the case, and he is expected to be in charge in France for the Europa League clash against Nice on Thursday 28 November as usual.

Something miraculous looks likely to be needed to keep him in the job long-term, with the fans already gone and a new boardroom now close at Ibrox.

With big games ahead in the upcoming month against Celtic and then the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham in Europe to follow, will Clement be in charge of those?
