Tottenham to sign Sunderland duo Chris Rigg and Tom Watson?
Signing two up-and-coming talents from the Stadium of Light would not be wholly unexpected from Ange Postecoglou’s side, given the amount of talent already in North London.
Rigg’s asking price of between £20million and £25million could put many clubs off [CaughtOffside], especially given that he is only 17 years of age, but youth has proven to be an exciting avenue for Spurs.
Postecoglou’s side already consists of the likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Destiny Udogie, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, some of whom have come through the club’s academy.
Proof of a clear path into the first team could be enough to convince either of the aforementioned youngsters to join the Lilywhites, especially if Sunderland miss out on promotion to the Premier League.
Watson already has nine senior appearances to his name since making his debut last year and continues to impress at Under-21s level, boasting five goals and four assists in five games so far this term.
Adding either of these players to the Spurs would certainly send out a message to the other teams circling the Stadium of Light, and it seems as though the club are serious after sending scouts.
Only time will tell if Spurs make their move but the summer transfer window could be a rather exciting one for fans in North London.
