Player expected to jet into Scotland in coming days as Rangers to seal another transfer - report

AS Far striker Hamza Igamane is expected to jet into Scotland in the coming days to seal a move to Rangers, according to Le Matin.

The Moroccan news outlet reported on 24 June that he will then undergo his medical and at the end of it, he will officially sign a new contract.

He will be putting pen to paper on a five-year contract at Ibrox as he aims to break into the Morocco national team.

Hamza Igamane is unlikely to be the first choice for Rangers

While the transfer has not been officially announced, it is expected to go through with an AS FAR representative confirming that he’s on his way to Ibrox.

Despite his potential, Igamane is unlikely to be the first-choice striker for Gers as he is relatively unproven at the top level, having played primarily in the Moroccan league.

The Scottish club are also in the process of a major squad overhaul, which means they are likely to bring in more established and experienced players who can make an immediate impact.

Rangers are expected to be in the market for a more proven striker to lead their attack, especially if they want to challenge for the title.

Hearts and Scotland striker Lawrence Shankland is a player Philippe Clement likes [Give Me Sport] and he could be the perfect man to lead the line.

Igamane’s signing is more of a long-term investment and he will need time to adapt to Scottish football and prove himself at the top level.
