Dean Saunders has slammed Ange Postecoglou for his Tottenham style of play after Fraser Forster made multiple errors.
The former England international conceded six against Liverpool on Sunday (22 December) in a frustrating defeat in North London.
This came after the 36-year-old made two errors while conceding three against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Thursday (19 December).
Speaking on talkSPORT on 24 December, Saunders placed the blame for these mistakes on Postecoglou and believes the Australian has to change his tactical approach.
He said: “There are points in games where you have the points in the bag and the rules have to change. You have to get the message out there or talk about it in training, for example, you’re 3-0 up and Fraser Forster is playing out from the back on his own goal line.
“Giving two goals away, that’s the manager’s fault. At what point do the players take responsibility? Teams are playing like this, it’s football snobbery.”

There is no doubt that the former Celtic boss operates with a bold tactical approach which sometimes pays off and benefits Spurs.
Positive results against Manchester City and Aston Villa have shown that the Aussie head coach’s ideas can work to great effect.
The issue is that when it doesn’t pay off, Postecoglou is made to look silly which ultimately casts a negative shadow over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This has been summed up by Forster’s mistakes against Manchester United which didn’t cost his side but just added to the unsure nature in N17.
The former Southampton man followed up these errors by conceding six against Liverpool in yet another negative result.
There is only so long that the 59-year-old can continue with this philosophy before it costs his side dearly and potentially his job in North London.
A move to be more defensively solid could be wise, especially while Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven are missing through injury.
In other Tottenham news, an EFL raid is on the cards as a Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday transfer update has dropped.
