Pundit slams Tottenham star after what he said in December

Paul Robinson has warned Cristian Romero against “biting the hand that feeds” after aiming digs at Tottenham owner Daniel Levy.

The Argentine was quizzed over Spurs’ lack of spending on the pitch, and unable to bite his tongue, attempted to take the pressure off his teammates and onto the current owner [Telemundo Deportes via Daily Mail].

Attempting to put out the fire on any behind-the-scenes controversy emerging, Ange Postecoglou shut the centre-back’s comments down, with Robinson now warning Romero for his comments.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “He can say what he wants when he’s left the club but don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

“He can have his own opinions once he’s left the club but when you’re part of a family, a unit, who are all trying to achieve something together.

“I’d be very against biting the hand that feeds you.”

With Lilywhites paying his wage, even while receiving treatment for another injury, Romero certainly does need to watch his words and remember who he works for.

While he did say what the majority of supporters are thinking, it is not his place to say something and should be leaving it up to the fans, who are protesting against Levy’s ownership [GiveMeSport].

If he wants to aim more digs at Levy and the investment at Spurs, he has already been given a warning, being told to focus on his football and attempting to push the team up the Premier League table.

Some supporters have even suggested that this could be a sign of the defending attempting to force his way out of North London, having been linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer [TyC Sports].
