Liverpool supporters would not have expected to have fallen in love with Arne Slot as quickly as they have done after Jurgen Klopp’s farewell in the summer.
It speaks volumes of the outstanding job Arne Slot has done at Anfield that Klopp’s absence is not being felt whatsoever.
Liverpool have a chance to further maintain their stranglehold at the top of the Premier League table by beating Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City side. Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley will not face Leicester, as confirmed by Slot due to nursing injuries even now.

Liverpool topped the Premier League table on Christmas but it was only in the 2019/2020 season out of five other occasions where they capitalised on such a strong position and got over the line.
As a result, the Reds will be aware that the job is far from done.
Ahead of their contest on Thursday, the Dutchman had a message for Liverpool fans.

In Liverpool’s programme notes ahead of their game against Leicester City, Arne Slot initially wished the fans a Merry Christmas while appreciating all the support they have given him, his staff and the players.
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our supporters a Happy Christmas. I have still only been at Liverpool for six months or so but in that short space of time I have learned very quickly why our fans are regarded all around the word as being very special.”
The support that you have given me, my staff and the players is a big part of what we do and what we are trying to do. Obviously this applies most of all in the stadium on matchdays but there have also been other ways that we have felt your support even when we are not at Anfield, so it is very important for me that you know how much this is appreciated.”
Arne Slot went on to promise that Liverpool will continue to graft to improve as a side ahead of the contest as well.
“I hope that you have enjoyed the football that the team has played so far and you have my word that we will keep on working as hard as we possibly can to keep on improving. There is a lot of football still to be played so hopefully the second half of the season can be as good, if not even better than the first half.”
“On a personal note, I would also like to wish you and your loved ones what I wish for myself and my loved ones as we approach every New Year, that is good health and good times.”

However, the former Feyenoord boss has managed to silence all his detractors as his side are topping the league and the Champions League table while being in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
