Tottenham fans would not be happy to see Richarlison leave the club this summer after being linked with a move away, Paul Robinson has said.

According to Football London [24 June], Spurs are open to offers for the 27-year-old Brazilian, mainly due to the player’s recent injury record which has seen him miss 20 matches across two seasons.

The forward joined the club on a £60million deal from Everton in June 2022, as per Sky Sports, since notching 15 goals and eight assists in 66 appearances, with 11 of those coming in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “I don’t think he’s hit the heights that he expected of himself in a Spurs shirt, but the one thing you can never criticise Richarlison about is his attitude and application, his desire, passion and love for football.

“I think the Spurs fans have warmed to him and they wouldn’t be happy to see him leave. They would understand because if you’re looking for a No.9, he hasn’t really taken on that mantle. He hasn’t scored the goals required in that position. And if Spurs sign an out-and-out striker, where does that leave him in competition for the wider attacking areas?

“The passion and love he’s got for the game, and what he gives you on the pitch, is difficult to replace. Positionally-wise, you can understand why they would replace him with a No.9 but I wouldn’t be disappointed if they kept him and he was part of the squad for next season.”

Could Tottenham keep Richarlison this summer?

Daniel Levy is not someone to splash a lot of money when it comes to football transfers, so it would be a shame to see Richarlison leave the club after only two seasons.

It is clear the Brazilian has lots of talent to show, having grabbed 11 league goals this season despite only starting 18 matches, but he is not the player to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich.

Spurs are still trying to find an out-and-out talisman, and although the former Everton man has the ability to provide goals and assists for Postecoglou’s team, his exit looks to be a very real possibility this summer.

In other Tottenham news, fans would be thrilled with the signing of Dusan Vlahovic amid links to Fabio Paratici.
