'Radical overhaul' - David Edgar reacts as 'Big' Rangers news emerges on Monday

David Edgar believes that Rangers need a radical overhaul after announcing Patrick Stewart as their new CEO on Monday.

The Heart and Hand podcast host has called it a “big” job as there’s plenty to sort behind the scenes at Ibrox.

Even on the pitch, the team appear to be struggling and there’s already a double-digit lead between them and Celtic.

Via X, Edgar wrote: “Best of luck to him. He’s got a big job on his hands but equally a hell of an opportunity to finally get us going in the right direction. We need a radical overhaul, not some things getting tweaked.”

Patrick Stewart has a number of big decisions to make at Rangers

This is the first step taken by the club to ensure that there is some kind of movement towards righting the wrongs behind the scenes.

A number of backroom roles were left unfilled and the team struggling on the pitch perhaps was a direct consequence of that.

Stewart has a number of things to do and primarily it will be to make a decision on Philippe Clement’s future.

He will be aware that the Belgian was handed a long-term contract in the summer and performances this season have been far from impressive.

Being 11 points behind Celtic at this stage of the season is completely unacceptable and anyone involved with the club would agree with it.

Only time will tell if Stewart is the right man for the job but he will need support from others on the board.
