Raheem Sterling has just dropped a big first XI selection hint ahead of Arsenal v Manchester City today

Arsenal take on Manchester City today in what is arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season so far.

The Gunners travel to The Etihad knowing they have to get a result of sorts of risk letting City already be give points clear of them after just five games.

As history tells us, that sort of points difference is massive and a defeat will leave Mikel Arteta’s side needing to really exert themselves.

Of course, Arsenal can go to City and win and after drawing last season, there’s a clamour from Arsenal fans now to go and take the next step and win.

For Mikel Arteta, that means making big selection calls in his first XI, with injuries and new signings affecting his thinking.

But one man who could get the nod to start is former City man, Raheem Sterling. And over on Instagram, Sterling has dropped a potential hint over his inclusion.

Raheem Sterling posts on Instagram in hint he’s starting for Arsenal v Man City

As we know, top players use social media all the time nowadays and not everything is a definitive message or hint.

However, Raheem Sterling has taken to his own Instagram stories today and posted an image which suggests he could well be involved from the off.

Sterling can be difference maker for Arsenal at City

Raheem Sterling is yet to start in the league for Arsenal but Mikel Arteta might well feel the time has come for the England man to be picked.

Yes, the likes of Leo Trossard and Gabi Martinelli are also pushing to start and Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka are near certainties to be included.

However, Sterling might just have the bit between his teeth against a former club and with his pace on the break, he could really help the Gunners.

Sterling, then, might just end up getting his first start at a place he called home for so long.
