John Souttar has been left frustrated after Rangers drew their Europa League clash against Olympiacos 1-1.
The Gers managed to bag themselves another point on the road after a decent display in Greece where Cyriel Dessers scored his ninth goal of the season.
Speaking to the media after the clash in quotes relayed by BBC Sport (8 November), Souttar shared his thoughts on the outcome of the fixture.
“It’s a really difficult place to go to and that’s a top team we played,” he said. “They obviously won the Conference League last season and I thought we stayed together as a team.
“We stuck to the gameplan, and it’s about moments in these games, and as much as we are pleased there is a slight frustration because we thought we’d done enough for three points.
“We’d probably have taken one point going there, but it’s slightly frustrating but we have to be pleased with that performance.
“I’d say this was a good performance from the whole team defensively”.

Described as “exceptional” by Ally McCoist live on TNT Sports (7 November) after the Scotsman blocked one of the home side’s chances in the 92nd minute, this was just one of the many stellar moments the defender produced.
The Gers may have conceded first thanks to a delightful first-time strike from Olympiacos talisman Ayoub El Kaabi but that doesn’t take away from the performance Philippe Clement’s men put in to get a point from the current Europa Conference League holders.
Rangers’ defence was a sight to behold on Thursday night and showed what the team is really capable of if they perform at their best.
Things haven’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the Ibrox outfit this term with the future of Clement being questioned on more than one occasion.
However, if they manage to pull out performances like they put in against Olympiacos in each game, it’s hard to see how their title challenge won’t spring back into action.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Clement’s men but if this game is anything to go off, they could claw their way back into the title race.
In other Rangers news, Cyriel Dessers proved once again why he continues to make the Gers’ fans mad after what he did versus Olympiacos.
