Rangers defender Connor Goldson has already joined up with his new teammates at Aris Limassol, according to Sahil Jaidka.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 26 July that he’s undergoing his medical and the finer details of his switch are all but finalised.

He will follow Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe out of the door with them leaving Ibrox this summer.

Jaidka wrote at 15:38: “Connor Goldson has joined up with Aris Limassol players in Austria at their pre-season camp ahead of his move from Rangers.

“The defender is now undergoing a medical with the finer details of his switch all but finalised between the clubs.

“He had held initial talks in Limassol earlier in the week and is now set to put pen to paper and end his six-year Ibrox stay.

“The 31-year-old won a Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and League Cup title – plus helped get Rangers to the Europa League final in 2022 – during his time in Glasgow.”

Connor Goldson will be remembered for all the good times at Rangers

Goldson will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by Gers fans for his significant contributions during his six-year tenure at Ibrox.

He played a crucial role in the club’s success, winning a Scottish Premiership a Scottish Cup,and a League Cup title.

His leadership and defensive prowess were instrumental in the club’s journey to the Europa League final in 2022.

Goldson’s time at Ibrox was marked by his consistent performances, for the most part, and ability to lead from the back.

He formed a formidable partnership with his fellow defenders, providing a solid foundation for the team.

The 31-year-old’s commanding presence in the air and his ability to read the game made him a fan favorite and a respected figure among his teammates.

Off the pitch, Goldson was known for his professionalism and dedication to the club and it won’t be a surprise if he returns to Ibrox in a coaching capacity a few years down the line.

In other Rangers news, a club president has green-signalled the exit of a player as Gers have issued a “significant” bid to sign him.
