Giovanni van Bronckhorst will monitor Rangers developments around James Tavernier closely as a Besiktas move now looks unlikely before the Turkish deadline, according to Haber Turk.
The outlet reported via their website on 10 September that the Ibrox captain is not expected to leave Ibrox before the Super Lig’s transfer window closes, after it emerged four Istanbul clubs were looking at a late move in the wake of the Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic [HITC, 6 September].
Van Bronckhorst is said to have given his bosses at Besiktas a glowing transfer report on Tavernier but he and other interested sides are set to wait until January with the Light Blues not likely to allow a move without signing a replacement.

The fallout from the loss at Parkhead has unsurprisingly been major but it would still be a hugely-dramatic move for Tavernier to want out after the deadline in Scotland and Philippe Clement to sanction the exit.
Cyrus Christie has been linked as a free agent replacement after his exit from Hull City at the end of last season [HITC, 7 September] but options are thin on the ground.
Dujon Sterling is set to take over the mantle at Ibrox whenever the skipper does move on [Rangers Review, 17 June], and Deadline Day signing Neraysho Kasanwirjo can also cover on the right of defence.
But Clement came out of the transfer window with a squad that looks weaker than the one that he went in with, and the ever increasing injury issues have left him even shorter on numbers.
Nothing can be certain until all transfer windows have closed, with interest also from the Middle East, but it looks like Tavernier, 32, is set to stay until the winter at least.
He was widely expected to move on in the previous market and recent developments might have suggested the current campaign is a bridge too far, so if there is such widespread interest a January move could now be very likely.
In other Rangers news, a new arrival at Ibrox is causing concern already as a major problem continues to grow.
