Rangers fans demand 'biased' Steve Clarke is sacked

Rangers fans have called for Steve Clarke to be sacked by Scotland after the 5-1 defeat to Germany in the Euro 2024 opening match.

Fans have suggested the boss left out the likes of Billy Gilmour and Lawrence Shankland from his starting XI due to their links with Rangers.

Gilmour, now of Brighton, and Shankland of Hearts were both boyhood fans of Rangers, with Gilmour a product of their youth academy.

Accusations of bias towards the national team boss are nothing new, but following the heavy defeat, the claims have resurfaced given the lack of Gers players involved.

Given the extent of the defeat, calls for Clarke’s head have begun already and he will need to save face in the two remaining group games as he falls under pressure.

Rangers fans rage at Steve Clarke after Scotland loss

Scotland fell a goal down after just 10 minutes and were 3-0 down before half-time, with Ryan Porteous’ red card for a disgraceful challenge making matters worse.

Clarke’s decision to leave John Souttar out of the squad, while ex-Gers Gilmour was on the bench despite his ability, left Rangers fans raging as they labelled him “bitter”, “clueless” and “biased”.

In other news, Rangers plan to accept a £5million offer for Tom Lawrence.
