Rangers identify possible Bisgrove replacement at rival club - report

Rangers are considering a move to bring Andrew McKinlay in from Hearts as a potential replacement for James Bisgrove, according to the Daily Record.

The outlet has reported (23 June) that the Gers have “been impressed” with the work of the chief executive over the years.

Rangers have been in need of recruitment in that role ever since Bisgrove stepped down on 30 May in a surprise move to the Middle East.

McKinlay is said to be among the candidates that the Light Blues are considering bringing in this summer given his “proven track record in Scottish sport”.

The Gers are in need of a proper chief executive after the departure of Bisgrove, with John Bennett temporarily stepping into that role.

With the mess surrounding the situation at Ibrox right now, it appears that things aren’t going that well for him in recent weeks.

After construction of a new area in the stadium was put on hold, a temporary move to Murrayfield is being considered for the start of the season.

This has been criticised quite heavily from fans and various outlets which isn’t doing the Gers any favours this summer.

A move for McKinlay would certainly be met with positivity given the work that he has done since taking up the role with Hearts.

This has seen him increase revenue streams across a variety of different areas, including hotels and corporate areas, while the footballing side has also improved.

With Rangers looking to compete better with Celtic in the league while having an off-the-pitch boost, the Hearts man could be a perfect addition.
