Doctor View: Player to pass Rangers medical for new transfer if needed despite 'Intense' injury

Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani is unlikely to face issues passing his Rangers medical despite an ankle injury in October, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the setback kept him out of action for over two months but he appeared to have recovered from it towards the back end of the season.

This comes after Gers are keen on securing the 23-year-old’s services with Neil Lennon trying his best to keep him at the club. [Daily Record]

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

He suffered an intense ankle injury back in October and that kept him out for over two months.

Rangers will keep this in mind and will have to be extremely methodical with his ongoing fitness, particularly to adapt to a higher intensity league.

The positive is that he did recover well from the injury and had a good season afterwards and played the 90 minutes in most games so I do not see him facing issues with his medical.

Albion Rrahmani can be the Lawrence Shankland alternative for Rangers

Rrahmani could be a good backup option for Rangers if they cannot sign Lawrence Shankland.

The 23-year-old Kosovan striker has shown great potential at Rapid Bucharest, netting 19 goals in 30 appearances last season.

He is a mobile and dynamic forward who could add a new dimension to Gers’ attack.

While Shankland is an established Scottish Premiership goalscorer, Rrahmani could be a smart investment for the future.
