Rangers player nears personal terms agreement with Euro club, transfer talks ongoing - report

Rangers attacker Sam Lammers is close to agreeing on personal terms with FC Utrecht, according to TransferWatch.nl.

The news outlet reported on 12 June, as cited by Inside Futbol, that Gers are continuing talks with Utrecht over the terms of the transfer.

The 27-year-old Dutch attacker moved to Utrecht on loan in January and racked up 10 goals and three assists in 18 league games.

The Dutch news outlet wrote on Twitter: “Sam Lammers is approaching a personal agreement for a permanent return to FC Utrecht.

“The Domstedelingen continue to negotiate with employer Rangers FC to agree on a transfer.”

Rangers hold the upper hand in Sam Lammers’ negotiations

Gers hold the upper hand in discussions with FC Utrecht and it remains to be seen how much they can get for him.

The Dutch attacker’s impressive loan spell at Utrecht has undoubtedly increased his value and made him indispensable to the club as well.

This puts Rangers in a strong negotiating position and they could ask for a multi-million fee, as Utrecht are keen to secure Lammers’ services permanently.

The main stumbling block in the negotiations was Lammers’ wages and this is something that their sporting director Jordy Zuidam went on record to state in May.

Utrecht, a club with a smaller budget compared to Gers, initially found it difficult to match Lammers’ salary expectations.

However, it appears that Utrecht have found a way or come close to navigating this predicament, possibly through creative financial arrangements or by reaching a compromise on the transfer fee and player wages.

This development suggests that Utrecht are committed to signing Lammers and are willing to find a solution that satisfies all parties involved.
