Rangers set to sign AC Milan defender ahead of German and Italian clubs - report

AC Milan defender Clinton Nsiala will not be extending his contract at the club as he’s set to join Rangers, according to Foot Mercato.

The news outlet reported on 10 June that the 20-year-old centre-back was wanted by German duo Hamburg and Stuttgart and also Italian clubs Monza and Empoli.

However, he will be moving to Ibrox on a free transfer with his contract in Milan expiring.

Rangers set to make their third summer transfer in Clinton Nsiala

Gers have already sealed the signings of Jefte and Oscar Cortes and are now set to make the Frenchman the third summer arrival.

The acquisition of Nsiala by Gers is a strategic move that could significantly bolster their defensive lineup.

His impressive performances in the AC Milan youth setup, including his crucial goal against PSG in the Youth League, highlight his potential as a valuable asset.

At 20 years old, he has already shown a blend of physical prowess and technical skills, making him a promising prospect for Gers’ future.

His decision to leave AC Milan, having made a senior debut for them, despite a contract extension offer indicates his ambition for more playing time, a need that Rangers are seemingly ready to meet.

The interest from other European clubs underscores his market value and the competition the Ibrox outfit faced in securing his services.

Nsiala’s transition from the Primavera to the first team could be smoother in Glasgow, given their track record of nurturing young talents.
