Rangers transfer round-up: Senior player ready to quit Ibrox, Barron latest

Rangers are eager to strengthen their ranks ahead of the new campaign, but certain players continue to be linked with moves away from Ibrox.

On the back of out-of-contract stars moving on, the Gers have moved fast to bring in Jefte and Clinton Nsiala so far, while Oscar Cortes’ loan deal is now permanent.

Wednesday (12 June) proved to be another busy day of transfer news – albeit with nothing confirmed – and Ibrox News has rounded the best bits in one place.

Tom Lawrence wants to quit Rangers now for one transfer

Rangers midfielder Tom Lawrence wants to leave Ibrox in order to link up with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Besiktas, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish outlet reported on its website [12 June] that the Super Lig side has been in contact with Lawrence already ahead of a potential move.

Van Bronckhorst brought the Wales international to Ibrox in the 2022 summer transfer window, and having made little impact since, a reunion with his former manager is on the cards [Scottish Daily Mail].

Connor Barron ready to snub England move for Rangers

Connor Barron is prepared to forego a move to England or Italy in order to discuss signing for Philippe Clement’s “new-look” Rangers squad, according to the Scottish Sun.

The paper reported on its website [12 June] that if he agrees a deal, it could leave Aberdeen “sweating” on the outcome of a tribunal decision if the two clubs cannot agree a fee.

The Dons would be due compensation for the 21-year-old if he leaves on the expiry of his contract this summer, and they could get as much as £500,000 due to cross-border rules if he went to Italy.

Tommy Conway compensation fee mooted amid Rangers battle

Rangers could owe Bristol City as little as £300,000 in compensation if they were to sign Tommy Conway, according to Daily Record.

The newspaper reported via its website [11 June] that, with the 21-year-old set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, the Gers and Celtic are keeping tabs on the striker’s situation.

Talks over an extension for Conway have failed at Ashton Gate, which would mean Rangers can sign him on a pre-contract agreement in January and owe as little as £300,000 as a cross-border compensation fee.

Rangers ready for Albion Rrahmani transfer as FIFA agent shares update

FIFA agent Cristian Cernodolea has predicted how much Rangers will have to pay to sign Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani this summer.

Nils Koppen has reportedly already made contact with the player’s camp over a potential transfer as the Gers look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

However, Cernodolea thinks Rapid Bucharest have already received offers that fall below their valuation and will not sell for less than that.

Speaking to GSP Live (11 June), he said: “Knowing the market and what is happening in the market, I am absolutely convinced that Rrahmani will leave this summer.

Rangers winger Oscar Cortes
Oscar Cortes has made his loan move permanent ahead of the summer transfer window

“I know Rapid has offers on the table. There are many teams that came to see him – important teams. I’m sure some of them were impressed; I have information on that.

“If I had to estimate, I would say that at this point I’m almost convinced Rapid has between five and six million [Euros] on the table for Rrahmani. And I don’t think they will sell him for that amount.

“The club is aiming for somewhere around seven to eight million [up to £6.7million].”

In other Rangers news, five young Gers players were mentioned in a scouting update.
