Ray Parlour says Arsenal would win the league this season if they had £51m player

Arsenal aren’t in the best of form right now in the Premier League.

The Gunners have won just three of their last six league games, and a tough game against Liverpool at the weekend could extend their recent troubles.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost their mojo slightly as of late, and some have claimed that Arsenal still need a new striker.

Arsenal were in the market for a new forward this summer. Benjamin Sesko was a concrete target for Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta is a fan of Alexander Isak.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Ray Parlour has been discussing Arsenal’s striker situation, and he’s made an interesting claim about Erling Haaland.

Arsenal would win the league if they had Erling Haaland

Parlour spoke about the idea that Arsenal need a new striker.

The pundit says that everyone will always make the point that Arsenal need a new striker, claiming that while Kai Havertz has done a good job, Arsenal would win the league if they had Erling Haaland up front.

“It’s always going to be what people bring up,” said Parlour

“If Arsenal had Erling Haaland in their side they would probably win the league. That’s how important number nines are.

“I’m sure Mikel Arteta and Edu are scouring the world to try and find the right profile. Havertz hasn’t done a bad job to be fair. He’s fitted in pretty comfortably up there.”

Erling Haaland compared to Kai Havertz

Parlour says that Arsenal would probably win the league if they had the £51m man, and he’s not too far wrong.

As well as Havertz has done over the past 12 months, Haaland is on another level.

Indeed, there’s a reason Martin Odegaard called Haaland the best player in the world recently, and the numbers back that up.

Haaland has been outperforming Havertz in terms of goalscoring for a long time now, and if Arsenal had a weapon like that leading their line, they’d arguably be favourites for the Champions League, let alone the Premier League.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, players like Haaland are once in a generation players, and they won’t be able to land a player of this calibre unless they fork out massive cash for the next big thing to come through.

Haaland has been incredible for Manchester City this season, and he may well be the deciding factor in this increasingly tense title race.
