Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is gearing up for the new season.
The Australian was appointed as the new Spurs manager in the summer of 2023. He had a tough job on his hands and things got a lot more difficult when Harry Kane left the club just before the start of the 2023/24 season.
That appeared to be a big blow and many pundits like Paul Merson predicted that Tottenham would finish in the bottom half without Kane in their side.
However, Postecoglou did a wonderful job in his debut season and Spurs finished fifth.
All things considered, that was a great achievement, but the aim in the upcoming campaign will definitely be to finish a lot higher.
What Ange Postecoglou has ‘warned’ Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy
Daniel Levy often comes under criticism from Tottenham fans, but he deserves a fair bit of praise for how well he has backed Postecoglou.
The Australian was given the funds to sign stars like James Maddison and Micky van de Ven in his first window, and both of them proved to be hugely successful signings.
In January 2024, Levy secured Radu Dragusin’s services by beating Bayern Munich to his signature.
The Spurs chairman has done well over the last 12 months, but Postecoglou knows that there’s a lot still left to do in this summer’s transfer window.
GiveMeSport have revealed that the Tottenham boss is keen to strengthen multiple areas of his squad before the new Premier League season starts.
Reinforcements in attack are high on the agenda in this window, and the report claims Postecoglou has ‘warned’ Levy and Johan Lange that signing new forwards is an absolute necessity if Spurs want to have a good season.
GMS reveal that ‘Postecoglou has warned Levy and Lange that it is vital for at least one attacker’ to be signed before the opening game of the new season.
The Australian’s ‘ideal plan’, however, is to sign two new attackers.

Tottenham eye move for three attackers
Postecoglou is right to demand new signings in attack.
On paper, Spurs have a fantastic frontline, but their top scorer last season was Heung-min Son with 18 goals. That is a big drop-off compared to the previous campaign, when Kane scored over 30.
Son led the charts in assists as well – 10 in all competitions, the same as Brennan Johnson. That’s not quite enough either for a team aiming for big things.
That’s why Postecoglou is so keen to strengthen his attack, and the report has revealed the three names Spurs are looking at.
Eberechi Eze is their top target and talks are expected to take place with Crystal Palace to see if a deal can be agreed in the coming weeks.
Tottenham have backup options too – the report claims that Spurs are considering Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Rennes youngster Desire Doue as well.
All three players are highly regarded at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see who Postecoglou will end up signing in this window.
