For the summer successive summer, Joao Felix’s future looks very uncertain. In 2023, he joined Barcelona on the final day of the transfer window, but while it cannot be ruled out that he returns to Catalonia, it’s also not a concrete possibility.
As things stand, Felix will return to Atletico Madrid next Friday (26/07) for pre-season, but neither he, Diego Simeone nor the club want this to happen. An exit will be sought before this date, and if a permanent sale were to happen, it would cost €60m, as per Marca.

Furthermore, Atleti only considers selling Felix at this stage, as they aim to raise the funds required to make multiple big-money signings. This would certainly rule Barcelona out of the race, as they would only consider re-signing the Portuguese attacker on loan.
Aston Villa have emerged as strong candidates to sign Felix, and they could realistically afford the asking price set by Atletico Madrid. However, it would not necessarily represent good value for money, taking into account the level of performance that Felix has shown over the last few years.
