Arsenal are in contact with a highly-rated winger on the continent.
The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last term, finishing just two points behind Manchester City.
So, the onus will now be to go one better and win a first league title since 2004 and to do that, Mikel Arteta will need to be backed in the window.
Riccardo Calafiori has already been added to his ranks and it seems Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino is set to become the second signing of the summer.
Now attention is starting to turn towards a winger.
Arsenal in contact with Federico Chiesa agent
According to La Stampa, via Tutto Juve, Arsenal are in talks with the agent of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, who Cristiano Ronaldo loves and previously wanted at Manchester United.
The North Londoners are keen on signing a wide player this summer and appear to have turned their attention to Chiesa after it emerged Nico Williams looks set to remain at Athletic Bilbao.
The 26-year-old, labelled a ‘superstar’ per Adriano Del Monte, has a year left on his deal at the Turin outfit so he’s thought to be available for a discounted asking price worth £25m.
That has alerted a number of clubs in the Premier League as Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are all looking at doing a deal.
So Arsenal will need to put forward a convincing pitch, otherwise, he’ll depart for one of their rivals.
Federico Chiesa profile
Chiesa is an extremely versatile attacker which is a trait Arteta is a really big fan of.
The Italy international can operate off both flanks and as a second striker, so he’d provide great depth in a number of different positions.
He netted 10 times whilst laying on three assists last term and would likely provide direct competition to Gabriel Martinelli if he were to sign for The Gunners.
