Report: Aston Villa and London duo want £25m defender Harry Redknapp said could play for any club in the world

Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham United have had differing starts to the new Premier League season.

The Villans are flying high at present, while the Cottagers have had a decent start and the Hammers will be eager to get back on track.

All three sides could potentially delve into the transfer market in January in pursuit of reinforcements.

Now, a report from Italy has claimed that Villa, Fulham and West Ham are all eyeing a defender who’s “one of the best around”.

Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham keen on AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori

The player in question is Fikayo Tomori, who hasn’t been having the best of times at AC Milan of late.

Villa, Fulham and West Ham all like the England international, according to Milan Live.

Meanwhile Newcastle United, who showed an interest in summer, could well try again for the £25million-rated ace.

Tomori’s recent performances for Milan have come under scrutiny, and he has faced criticism alongside the likes of Theo Hernandez.

He made a big mistake in the loss to Fiorentina, which led to their winning goal, and his attitude has been described as ‘no longer convincing’ as well.

There’s a chance that Tomori could now drop down the pecking order, and this could open the door to a possible January move.

What Harry Redknapp and Paolo Maldini have said about Tomori

Back in 2023, Harry Redknapp said Tomori could play for any team in the world if he wanted to.

“(Gareth) Southgate simply prefers players he’s worked with for a long time – like Maguire and Stones,” Redknapp told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Players he trusts and consequently Tomori has no space. But he’s a player who could play anywhere.”

Meanwhile, Paolo Maldini previously told Sky Sports, via talkSPORT: “Fikayo is a player with particular characteristics, pace and intensity.”

Although Tomori isn’t having a great time at present, the likes of Villa, Fulham and West Ham would be massively strengthened with him in their ranks.
