Report: Brighton now planning bid for £25m player who has reportedly agreed to sign for Arsenal

Brighton have made quite the impression in recent years and they could now looking to nudge ahead of Arsenal for one big summer signing.

The Seagulls have impressed in recent seasons and had a fine year last year under Roberto de Zerbi.

The next step for the club is to improve further and somehow compete with the biggest clubs in the market to bring in proven players.

Arsenal, of course, are one of those huge clubs who seem to dominate headlines in the summer window.

The Gunners are close to signing Riccardo Calafiori, want Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, and remain keen on forward players, with Federico Chiesa linked again.

However, Arsenal might not get it all their own way on every target and according to CaughtOffside, Brighton are now trying their luck for one potential Gunners signing.

Brighton trying to sign Ferdi Kadioglu despite Arsenal links

According to the report from CaughtOffside, sources with knowledge of the situation suggest Brighton have made a move to sign Kadioglu.

The fee will be around £25m and would represent a major coup for the Seagulls.

Of course, Arsenal have an interest here after reports suggested Kadioglu had actually agreed to sign for the Gunners this summer.

But with Arsenal focussed on Calafiori and then deals for others, it seems like a door has opened for the likes of Brighton.

Kadioglu has emerged as one of the stars of Turkish football in recent times and played for his country at the Euros this summer.

Whether or not he does get his Premier League move this summer, remains to be seen.

But if Arsenal are off the table, then Brighton are a good, strong club for Kadioglu to consider.

Indeed, as we’ve seen with others, it only takes one good season at The Amex to earn a big move to one of the elite anyway.
