Ruben Amorim is the new head coach of Manchester United, and, as you would expect, there are likely to be changes to the squad.
United have a good squad, but there are many players who have underperformed over the years under Erik ten Hag.
Amorim is a very good manager who won Liga Portugal twice while he was in charge of Sporting Lisbon.
The 39-year-old is a winner, and he is very likely to make important decisions on the current players at United.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Christian Eriksen and Antony could struggle to get into the team and could leave United, and another player is being mentioned as a possible departure from Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s transfer plan regarding Casemiro
According to CaughtOffSide, Casemiro is a player that Amorim could get rid of in the middle of the season.
The report has claimed that the Brazil international defensive midfielder could be sold for £30 million in the January transfer window.
United paid Real Madrid £60 million in transfer fees for Casemiro in the summer of 2024.
Casemiro, who had a bad game against Liverpool, has scored six goals and given five assists in 63 appearances in the Premier League for United so far this season.
What Erik ten Hag thought of Casemiro
Casemiro is 32 now and struggled last season, but Ten Hag did rate the Brazilian defensive midfielder highly.
At the start of the season, Ten Hag said about the midfielder on ManUnited.com: “He has a pre-season so he is very fit in this moment. I think, as a team, we work good together and I think that makes it for Case very easy.
“Then he can bring his skills in and then you can see his importance for the game and for our team.”
Ten Hag added: “He is a big leader for us and very important for the team. Attacking, defending, we are together.”
Casemiro has made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. The former Madrid star has scored one goal in those games.
The midfielder has also scored two goals in two League Cup matches for the Red Devils this campaign.
