Arsenal could now push to try and sign Amadou Onana from Everton this summer after his price tag has been revealed, according to Charles Watts.

The journalist reported via Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing page (18 June) that the Toffees would be open to losing the Belgian international if it meant keeping Jarrad Branthwaite.

Now a price tag of “around £50m” has been mooted, which is a fee that “could be appealing” to interested clubs this summer.

Arsenal could be “tempted” into signing the 22-year-old, who Watts described as “absolutely exceptional” in a previous match against the Gunners.

Arsenal reignite interest in Amadou Onana from Everton

Everton have to put up with Premier League PSR problems this summer which will likely see them forced into selling some key names.

This has seen the likes of Branthwaite linked heavily to Manchester United [Florian Plettenberg] and even Dominic Calvert-Lewin linked to Newcastle United [The Athletic].

These could help the Toffees deal with financial problems that have plagued them for a lengthy period of time.

Sean Dyche will be needing to make some additions to his squad this summer and because of that, some sales will be necessary.

Onana is a young player who is a regular international and therefore a sizable fee can be demanded this summer.

Branthwaite is someone who the club are clearly very keen to hold onto and after his performances last season, and there is good reason.

The club won’t want to lose any of their stars but that doesn’t look to be possible this summer.

Onana found himself out of the starting XI at times under Dyche so losing him this summer could potentially make sense, but only if a replacement of some sort is then brought in.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have made a special request to the Premier League for their Goodison Park farewell.
