Everton ready to move for £15m+ gem who Mourinho loves - report

Everton are interested in Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, according to Sky Sports Italy.

The broadcaster reported via Calcio Mercato (18 June) that Bournemouth and the Toffees are both interested in the 22-year-old.

Bove is attracted to the Premier League and Roma are ready to listen to offers for the player.

However, it would take an offer of at least £15million to convince the Serie A side to sell.

It is no surprise to see the Toffees are interested in players from Roma at the same time that the Friedkin Group are in talks to complete a takeover at Goodison Park.

Having an owner who also owns another European club could prove useful, and this is perhaps an early example of that.

And Bove would certainly be an exciting addition at Goodison Park, especially if the words of Jose Mourinho are anything to go by.

As per the official Roma website (12 April 2023), Mourinho referred to Bove as a “sick dog” during his time in charge of the club, highlighting the youngster’s intensity and aggressiveness on the pitch.

Those are qualities which would certainly be well-appreciated at Goodison Park, and if Dan Friedkin could help facilitate a deal that would make negotiations a lot easier.

However, £15million is a lot of money right now for the Toffees, and a move might therefore have to wait.

In other Everton news, Sean Dyche could be sacked once a takeover is complete at Goodison Park.
