Report shares if Euro club want to sign Dele Alli as Everton contract update emerges

Genoa have no concrete interest in Dele Alli who is focused on earning a new contract at Everton, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (30 September) that the European club are not understood to be keen to bring the attacking midfielder to the Serie A after his Toffees contract expired last summer.

Dele is continuing to train with the Blues as he builds up his fitness after injury and looks to earn a new contract to extend his stay on Merseyside, despite having yet to play a game under the management of Sean Dyche.

While it isn’t clear whether the former Tottenham man is close to a new deal at Goodison Park, Toffees chief Kevin Thelwell admitted he would love to see him playing for the Blues once again [BBC Sport, 20 September].

Has Dele Alli left Everton and Goodison Park?

While Everton supporters will likely remain divided over whether or not the Toffees should look to extend Dele’s contract, it does seem as though the ball remains in both the player and the club’s court at this moment in time.

Several other teams have been linked with a move for the midfielder who is officially a free agent, but it seems to be little more than speculation with the Blues the club in pole position to offer the Englishman a new contract.

At his best, the former Tottenham star can be one of the most exciting players in the Premier League with his attacking flair and precise finishing ability. The unfortunate thing is that Dele hasn’t been at that level for a while now.

Everton
Dele Alli is yet to play a professional game for Everton under Sean Dyche.

Dyche will of course believe that he can help the England international turn his career around as other players have done in the past under his management, but the terms of the deal will need to be right for all parties.

If Everton can tie Dele down to an all-but risk-free contract, assuming he proves his fitness, it feels like a gamble worth taking. Who knows, he could be running the Blues’ new-look midfield for years to come yet.
