Report: Tottenham want to sign 'sensational' £30m player but he's a self-confessed Chelsea fan
????
Tottenham Hotspur have endured an inconsistent start to the Premier League season.
Tottenham have played some wonderful football at times but they haven’t always got their reward due to wastefulness in front of goal.
However, yesterday, they managed to find a clinical edge as they thrashed West Ham United 4-1 in North London.
Ange Postecoglou’s young side moved up to seventh with victory and the good feeling is certainly back among supporters.
With that said, behind the scenes, the recruitment team is already starting to plan for the January transfer window and one of their targets has just been revealed.
Tottenham and Chelsea remain interested in Patrick Dorgu
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu ahead of the January transfer window.
Spurs were keeping tabs on Dorgu during the summer transfer window but never formalised their interest with a bid.
The North Londoners are still in ‘hot pursuit’ despite the teenager having just extended his contract with the Serie A outfit.
Chelsea are also showing an interest in Dorgo, who is a self-confessed fan of The Blues, so that could give Enzo Maresca’s side the advantage in the race to land his signature.
Patrick Dorgu valued at £30m
Dorgu, who GOAL have labelled as ‘sensational’, is now valued at in excess of £30m by Lecce following his contract extension.
The 19-year-old is contracted until 2029 but Lecce are well aware his long-term future likely lies elsewhere as he continues to attract interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
If Tottenham were to land his signature, he’d be competing against Destiny Udogie for a place in Postecoglou’s starting 11.
Stats per 90 Patrick Dorgu Destiny Udogie Tackles 2.27 2.61 Interceptions 0.62 1.32 Aerials won 1.65 0.77 Non-penalty goals 0.16 0.07
