Report: ‘Unbelievable’ Arsenal player Mikel Arteta loves could be about to sign a new five-year contract
Excellent news ????
As part of their ambition to continually improve moving forwards, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal seem determined to learn from one or two of their ‘mistakes’ this season.
Firstly, Edu and Arsenal have been criticised for the fees they’ve recouped when selling some of their squad players in recent years.
Many felt that Folarin Balogun should have demanded a bigger fee when he left for Monaco, feeling the same way when Granit Xhaka departed for Bayer Leverkusen.
Selling the right players for the right price is a skill – and Arsenal need to get better at it.
Of course, the fee that Arteta recouped for Emile Smith Rowe this summer was a big improvement – a price befitting the talented that reluctantly departed.
Arsenal also aren’t willing to sell Eddie Nketiah to Marseille for cheap, with a similar defiance when it comes to Aaron Ramsdale.
Otherwise, there’s only one other significant criticism you could levy at Arteta and Arsenal in the past few years, which have been incredibly encouraging on the whole.
Arsenal enter contract talks with Ethan Nwaneri over deal that could run until 2030
In the past few seasons, Arsenal haven’t managed the progression of their young talents well enough, the reason why Amario Cozier-Duberry was able to leave on a free.
Arsenal offered Cozier-Duberry a new contract before he left, one he eventually rejected.
But after reports from FootballTransfers that Arsenal are now in talks about a new contract with Ethan Nwaneri, fans can rest assured that things could be about to improve.
Nwaneri has been handed excellent chances in pre-season, another significant change since last summer, and must be incentivised to sign a new deal.
According to the report, Arsenal are in talks to offer Nwaneri a five-year contract running until 2030 once he turns 18.
Both Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have been a pleasure to watch both stateside and at the Emirates during pre-season – two extremely gifted youngsters.

Perhaps Nwaneri could be Arsenal’s David Silva, a left-footer able to solve a number of positions in midfield.
Arteta loves Nwaneri’s skill set, seemingly determined to hand him more first team chances.
And it would be a considerable win for Arsenal if the future England international signed a new long-term deal.
