Tottenham completed the signing of Dominic Solanke this weekend but that could well have impacted another potential transfer.
Spurs have paid more than £60m to bring Solanke to the club and he’s expected to go straight into the team to kick off the Premier League season next weekend.
For Ange Postecoglou, Solanke’s signing very much gives him the attacking player he wanted this summer.
However, more attackers have also been linked with a move to Tottenham.
One of those is Italian forward, Federico Chiesa. Tottenham are thought to be keen on the Euro 2020 winner, while Arsenal have also shown interest.
But despite claims Chiesa himself wants a move to London, reports from Italy now suggest Tottenham have gone quiet.
Tottenham yet to make Federico Chiesa bid
According to Di Marzio, Chiesa’s agent is trying to get a deal through for his client but is struggling to find a taker.
It’s claimed that Tottenham have yet to come forward and make a bid for Chiesa despite all the talk, while clubs in Italy are also sitting quiet.
It comes amid suggestions Besiktas are looking to sign Chiesa, something his agent denies in this same report.
Ange Postecoglou has said more players will be arriving before the window closes.
However, as it stands, it looks like Chiesa will not be one of those players.
Something not sitting right with Chiesa deal
Despite his credentials and despite talk he could be available for just £13m, there seems to be something amiss when it comes to Federico Chiesa.
For a player so talented, you’d have thought someone would have snapped him up by now. Indeed, he has been branded a ‘superstar‘ by his home media.
Alas, he is still sat with Juventus, not wanted, but yet failing to find a new club.
Quite what the missing ingredient is, is open to debate. But clearly, Tottenham see something that’s not being picked up on by the media and as suggested here, have simply not made their bid.
