Report: What Yves Bissouma has now done in 'desperate' bid to be fit for Tottenham v Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur will look to get back to winning ways this weekend as they host Arsenal at N17 in the first Premier League game following the international break.

Both Spurs and the Gunners failed to win their respective Premier League games before domestic top-flight football ground to a halt.

Tottenham lost to Newcastle United despite dominating proceedings, while Arsenal could only draw with Brighton in a controversial encounter.

In addition, both Spurs and the Gunners have some personnel issues, and the Lilywhites are now sweating on the fitness of one of their star players.

The player in question is Yves Bissouma, who limped off in Mali’s win over Eswatini on Tuesday after scoring an early winner.

Now, LondonWorld has shared what the Tottenham midfielder has done in a bid to be available for this weekend, and what his thoughts are amid his injury scare.

Yves Bissouma raced back to Tottenham for tests and pain management

LondonWorld has reported that Bissouma was on the first plane back to London after picking up the knock in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The outlet also said Bissouma is ‘desperate to impress Ange Postecoglou’ in wake of a difficult start to the season on a personal level.

He returned to London immediately after the game to manage the pain and have the Tottenham medical team assess him ahead of the Arsenal match.

Bissouma’s up-and-down start to the season

Bissouma missed out on Tottenham’s first game of the season as he was suspended by the club for disciplinary reasons.

However, he returned against Everton and scored a superb goal to set his side on their way to an emphatic win.

Sadly, Bissouma then flattered to deceive against Newcastle, though most of the team struggled on the day.

Now he faces the risk of missing out on a huge game against Spurs’ bitter rivals, a game he seems desperate to be available for.

Tottenham v Arsenal team news

Spurs will hope to have Micky van de Ven back after he missed the 2-1 loss to Newcastle United before pulling out of Netherlands duty.

Likewise, Dominic Solanke could return after he missed Tottenham’s last two games, while Richarlison is not expected to be fit.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have a number of well-documented personnel concerns of their own.

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard is a serious doubt for the game due to an ankle injury, while Mikel Merino, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are also sidelined.

Riccardo Calafiori suffered a knock on Italy duty, while Gabriel Jesus has been dealing with a groin problem of late and Declan Rice is suspended after his second yellow against Brighton.
