Report: 'World-class' striker could refuse to train now to force a move after claims Arsenal want to sign him

One Arsenal target is so desperate to leave his club that he could refuse to show up to training in order to force a transfer.

The Gunners are expected to make at least one big move in this window. They haven’t signed any player yet apart from turning David Raya’s loan into a permanent deal, but that is expected to change.

Mikel Arteta and Edu are hard at work behind the scenes to make something happen, and Arsenal have been linked with plenty of players.

An interesting update has emerged about one of them.

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen is ready to skip training to force Napoli exit

Victor Osimhen is one of the best strikers in the world.

The ‘world-class‘ Nigeria international has been a wanted man for several months now, and the expectation has been that he will be leaving Napoli in this window.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are willing to pay £63 million to sign Osimhen this summer. The striker has been linked with other clubs as well.

PSG are said to be keen to sign Osimhen and have been described as the favourites to land the Napoli centre-forward in the coming weeks.

However, journalist Dean Jones claimed recently that he cannot shake the feeling that Arsenal could make a move for Osimhen at some point in the window.

Napoli are willing to let their star number nine leave, but they are demanding his full release clause – €130 million (£109m).

L’Equipe have now revealed that Osimhen wants to leave Napoli this summer and ‘would be willing to stop training to force his departure’.

The report claims that Napoli have been ‘uncompromising in discussions with the various clubs’ who have shown interest in Osimhen.

It remains to be seen whether Osimhen refusing to train will force Napoli to lower their demands. If the asking price drops to an affordable amount, we’re sure a number of clubs will want to sign him.

The striker Arsenal will try to sign if Osimhen remains too expensive

Arsenal broke their transfer record just 12 months ago when they signed Declan Rice from West Ham United. We just can’t see them doing it again this summer.

The only way this transfer could happen is if Napoli agree to budge on their demands.

If Osimhen remains too expensive, reports have claimed that Arsenal will instead make a move to sign Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon.

The Swede directly contributed to over 50 goals last season. He is a wanted man in this window, and the Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to sign him. Reports have even claimed that Arsenal are ready to pay £86 million to sign Gyokeres this summer.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in the coming weeks.
