Liverpool boss Arne Slot is all set to miss out on his priority transfer target this summer.

The Reds were expected to be very active in the market in this window following the arrival of their new head coach.

However, Liverpool are yet to make any new signings.

That is likely to change in the coming weeks, and the Merseyside giants have been heavily linked with a move to sign multiple players.

Teun Koopmeiners has been heavily linked with a move away from Atalanta this summer.

The talented Dutch midfielder had an excellent season for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in the 2023/24 campaign. He even helped Atalanta knock Jurgen Klopp’s men out of the Europa League.

Since then, Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move to sign Koopmeiners, and Slot’s arrival has made those links even stronger.

The new Liverpool boss worked with the midfielder when the two of them were at AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands many years ago.

Reports have claimed recently that Slot has made Koopmeiners his ‘top’ transfer target for Liverpool in this window.

However, there is some bad news for Reds fans.

After TBR Football exclusively revealed that Koopmeiners had made it known that he wants to join Juventus, a new update has emerged.

Romano has revealed that the midfielder has agreed personal terms over a move to Turin. The Old Lady will make an official move to sign him right after they sell Matias Soule.

The journalist tweeted: “Juventus will send official bid to Atalanta for Teun Koopmeiners as soon as they sell Matias Soulé.

“Koopmeiners, waiting for Juventus as personal terms are already agreed and he wants the move.”

Koopmeiners’ teammate is ready to join Liverpool

Liverpool need a new midfielder in this window.

The Reds have Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai as guaranteed starters in the middle of the park. The other spot is up for grabs even though the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones and Stefan Bajcetic are available.

Koopmeiners would’ve been a great option for Liverpool because he can play in all three central midfield positions, but that move looks unlikely now.

However, Slot could sign his teammate instead.

Reports have claimed that fellow Atalanta midfielder Ederson is open to a move to Liverpool this summer if the Reds want to sign him.

The Brazilian is said to be highly regarded at Liverpool and he can be signed for around £45 million in the coming weeks.
