Revealed: Mudryk to get Chelsea lifeline from Maresca after exit news

Chelsea will give Mykhaylo Mudryk the chance to play for his future over the busy festive period, sources have told Football Insider.

The Ukraine international is not playing regularly at Stamford Bridge and that has alerted potential suitors in the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (18 November) that Mudryk is being monitored by multiple top-flight clubs ahead of January.

He has slipped down the pecking order following the appointment of Enzo Maresca and the subsequent arrivals of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho.

But sources say Chelsea will only allow Mudryk to depart in the new year if it is on their terms – with the club still feeling he can play a crucial role in the 2024-25 campaign.

Maresca’s side are still fighting for Champions League qualification through the Premier League, and are also looking for success in the League Cup and Uefa Conference League.

It is believed the Italian boss still sees the winger as key to the club’s chances in cup competitions, where he has played the majority of his minutes this term.

Mudryk’s two goals and five assists this term have all come in the League Cup and Europe.

He has played just 146 minutes in seven Premier League appearances this season but could force himself into the first eleven with good performances in other competitions.

The 26-cap Ukraine star is under contract at Chelsea until June 2031 after his reported £88.5million arrival almost two years ago.
