Nottingham Forest have confirmed Tom Cartledge has stepped down from his role as the club’s chairman, sources have told Football Insider.
As per a Companies House submission on Wednesday (2 October), it has been revealed Cartledge’s position has been officially terminated at the City Ground.
The former chairman has stepped aside to focus on the running of his family business, but he will remain on the club’s board.
Cartledge, who is a life-long Forest fan, was only appointed to the role in August last year after replacing Nicholas Randall KC.
He’s had to navigate various challenging moments over the past year following the four-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR) and the appointment of manager Nuno Espirito Santo as Steve Cooper’s replacement.
Randall, who remained on the club’s board as a non-executive director following the chairmanship change last August, has now been reappointed chairman at the City Ground.
He previously held the position for six years following Evangelos Marinakis’s takeover in 2017.
During that time, Randall helped Forest secure their long-awaited return to the Premier League in 2022 and cement their position in the top flight.
Nottingham Forest have enjoyed solid start to new season
The latest boardroom reshuffle comes after Football Insider revealed on 7 August Forest’s former director of football Kyriakos Dourekas has left his role at the City Ground.
Alongside Randall and Cartledge, the club’s board is now made up of co-owner Sokratis Kominakis and director Ioannis Vrentzos as well as non-executive directors Jonny Owen and Simon Forster.
Ross Wilson has been heading up the football operations after he joined Forest from Rangers in April 2023 as chief football officer.
Nuno’s side have enjoyed a solid start to the new Premier League season, having picked up nine points from their opening six matches after losing just one of those fixtures and beating Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield.
Forest’s next game sees them travel to Stamford Bridge to face an in-form Chelsea side on Sunday afternoon.
In other news, Nottingham Forest will accept ‘huge’ Murillo offer.
