On Thursday, Sevilla announced Gerard “Peque” Fernandez as their second signing of the summer, and they are closing in on adding their third player to Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta’s squad.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Albert Sambi-Lokonga. The Belgian midfielder will arrive on an initial season-long loan, although there will be a buy option included in the operation, believed to be worth €12m.
Albert Sambi-Lokonga to Sevilla, here we go! Deal in place with Arsenal on loan move for the midfielder.
Sevilla will cover his salary with €12m buy option clause also included in the deal.

Sevilla are in desperate need of central midfielders, as they currently only have Djibril Sow and Joan Jordan as options for next season (and also Thomas Delaney, although he’s expected to leave soon). Sambi-Lokonga’s arrival makes things less critical for Garcia Pimienta in that department, although he will surely be the first of multiple midfielders to make their way to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan this summer.
Sambi-Lokonga should be a very good addition, and if he continues the form shown during his loan spell at Luton Town last season, there’s a considerable chance that Sevilla activate that buy option in 2025.
