Dan Bardell doesn’t think Rangers fans will care if Hibernian aren’t given a full away allocation after the latest Ibrox redevelopment update.
The Gers returned to their home ground on Saturday 21 September as they welcomed Dundee in a League Cup quarter-final which they won 3-0.
For the upcoming clash on 29 September, Hibs have been warned that their allocation could be reduced or fully cut if works on the Copland Road Stand aren’t completed [Daily Record].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell can’t see the Light Blues faithful being bothered by this news as long as it is resolved quickly.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “It’s become very prolonged now, hasn’t it.
“Rangers fans won’t care that there are no – or less – away supporters than usual in the stadium. That won’t bother them at all.
“They just want to focus on themselves and getting their fans back into the ground. It’s just been a difficult time for Rangers all around.
“When you’ve got stuff like this going around it really doesn’t help. I think they need to get it sorted as soon as possible and put it to bed.“
Rangers in new Ibrox drama amid Hibernian fan update
The issues that the Light Blues are having to deal with just refuse to go away and have continued to build up at the start of the season.
This has all culminated with John Bennett departing as chairman with that role yet to be filled on a permanent basis.
It has to be said that having stadium works done that continue into the season is a bad look, especially when form has been generally poor.
This will only get worse if away fans aren’t allowed into Ibrox for the Hibs clash especially if home fans are let in.
There is a chance that there will be away fans there but Rangers will just want this situation to be done and dusted because it is becoming a farce.
