Kris Boyd says Hamza Igamane can be “slack” despite being impressed by the talent he continues to show for Rangers.
Igamane starred for Philippe Clement yet again on Saturday [8 December] as Rangers cruised to a 3-0 win against Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium.
The 22-year-old made an instant impact in the game as he gave his side the lead, scoring after just six minutes with a vicious strike.
Speaking live on Sky Sports [8 December, 14:12], Boyd said: “His link-up play I thought was tidy today.
“Maybe sometimes he can become a little bit slack because of the way he is sometimes it becomes too easy for him, sometimes a couple of balls just threading it through, trying little balls for the other ones to run on to but I thought his touch – he’s always in control of the ball, he’s always tight.”
James McFadden agreed, saying: “I like him, I think that you know he’s got good touch, he’s always in control.
“I know that sounds simple but he’s always comfortable he looks like he’s got time. It can look a bit slack but he’s relaxed, he’s got that confidence and that belief. Looks like’s he having fun, he’s enjoying himself, he’s gonna try a nutmeg, a little flick round the corner that’s what helps you relax.”
Hamza Igamane is making a name for himself at Rangers
Another impressive showing for Igamane today has certainly shown Clement he is worthy of retaining his place in the starting line-up for Rangers consistently.
This is the 22-year-old’s second goal in as many games, his fifth in total, and you can see how his confidence is growing in his performances which makes him an exciting prospect.
Although Boyd and McFadden admitted that the forward can look “slack” at times, the core point they are making is that he is a young player who manages to make his job look effortless which is impressive for a player of his age.
His ability to control the ball well and see those exciting passes make him an asset to his team as they look to turn their season around.
The Sky Sports duo raved about how fun the youngster is to watch and that must be a joy for supporters at Ibrox too who have not had much to smile about so far this season.
In other Rangers news, a return to Glasgow for Ange Postecoglou could result in his sacking at Tottenham.
