Sources: Nottingham Forest could now sell 27-yr-old by Sunday

Nottingham Forest stalwart Joe Worrall is among a number of players the club are looking to offload by the end of the week to stave off more financial chaos.

That is according to Football Insider journalist and Scottish expert Daniel Bowers, speaking to Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Worrall, 27, has been named alongside Matt Turner, Lewis O’Brien and Emmanuel Dennis as players Forest want to cut ties with to raise up to £20m to ease the club’s financial burden.

English clubs must declare their accounts for PSR purposes by 30 June, and Worrall – who was loaned to Besiktas last season and had experienced an alleged rift with former boss Steve Cooper – is on the transfer list at the City Ground.

Football Insider revealed [16 June] that Forest are willing to accept offers for Worrall this summer with Championship clubs interested. It is believed an offer of around £5million could seal a deal.

Nottingham Forest ready to sell Worrall

Nottingham Forest are set to enter a new chapter of life without local lad Worrall, who came through the ranks at his boyhood club to make 226 senior appearances since 2016.

The club must be ruthless in trimming their squad and are ready to sell several players including USMNT goalkeeper Turner after just one season – albeit likely after his return from the Copa America.

Worrall played just seven times in the Premier League for Nuno’s side last season, making a further six league appearances in Turkiye with Besiktas.

Whilst the fallout with Cooper is water under the bridge for the defender with his former manager now at neighbours Leicester City, it is difficult for Nuno to figure Worrall in his plans.

Football Insider [1 June] understands Forest expect to receive around £4m for the 27-year-old.

In other news, Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sign Lamare Bogarde from Aston Villa.
