Rangers are set to play five games at Hampden Park to kickstart the new season.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed this is the most logical decision possible.
If everything goes smoothly from this point on, the Gers are expected to be out of their own stadium until at least September.
However, playing in Hampden Park until that’s resolved does at least keep the club in Glasgow.
It’s not an ideal situation, but Rangers are used to playing at Hampden Park in cup semi-finals and finals throughout the years.
Despite the Gers having to move stadiums for the start of the season, they are expected to still gain a big following.
Rangers could have done without this stadium drama
The situation is one that Rangers boss Philippe Clement could have done without, as it provides an unnecessary distraction to his pre-season plans.
Rangers want to start the season well and place as much pressure on Celtic as possible in a bid to win the Scottish Premiership this season.
But playing away from Ibrox isn’t the best preparation possible, even though some Rangers fans see Hampden Park as their home away from home.
That’s due to a lack of funds available for Clement this summer, with the financial situation at Ibrox making transfers difficult.
